WHAT’S INCLUDED

What a proper soft wash actually involves

Soft washing gets used as a buzzword. Here is what actually happens on your siding.

Low pressure, by design

Siding, fences and painted surfaces get low pressure. Pressure is never what does the cleaning.

The solution does the work

The mix breaks down algae, mildew and black streaking at the root.

Dwell time, not force

The solution needs a few minutes to work. Rushing it is what leaves streaks.

Plants get protected

Beds and shrubs get soaked before I start and rinsed again after.

Windows and trim rinsed

Windows and trim on any wall I wash get rinsed, so nothing dries spotted.

An even rinse

Top down, even passes, no tide line along the bottom of the wall.

SOFT WASHING QUESTIONS

Soft washing questions I get asked

What actually is soft washing?

+

Low pressure plus a cleaning solution. The mix does the cleaning and the water just carries it off — safe on surfaces high pressure would wreck.

Will it damage my paint or siding?

+

No — that is the whole reason it exists. High pressure forces water behind siding and strips paint. A soft wash runs at about garden-hose pressure.

How long does it last?

+

Usually a couple of years on siding, less on a shaded north wall. It kills growth at the root, so it returns slower than a plain pressure wash.

Do you soft wash or pressure wash siding?

+

Soft wash, always. Anyone offering to pressure wash your siding is telling you something useful about how they work.

Is it safe for my plants?

+

Yes, with the prep. Beds get soaked before I start so leaves cannot absorb anything, then rinsed again after.

Can you do a two-story house?

+

Yes. Soft washing reaches the second storey from the ground — no ladders leaning on your gutters.

How much does soft washing cost?

+

Depends on wall area, height and how heavy the growth is. Send the address and a photo of the worst wall and I can usually get you close.
