Why I Give My Best Clients a S’mores Kit Every Summer
By Kole · Peterson Property Services · 3 min read

Every summer I put together a small thank-you for the PPS clients who’ve supported this business the most, repeat customers, referrals, the people who’ve had me back more than once. This year it was a s’mores kit, a handwritten note, and a little discount on their next service. Here’s why I do it, and what it actually looked like.
It’s not a marketing gimmick
I’m not sending these out to get a review or chase a sale. It’s genuinely just a thank-you. Running PPS solo means every job I get is because someone trusted me with their property, and a lot of my growth has come from the same handful of people booking me again or telling a neighbor. A gift box is a small way of saying that doesn’t go unnoticed.
What went in each box
A Hershey’s S’mores Kit, grahams, chocolate, and marshmallows, no assembly required
A handwritten note, one per client, nothing copy-pasted
A gift certificate for a discount on their next service
A PPS business card, in case they ever need to pass one along
Ten boxes, ten names
I put together ten boxes this round, each one labeled and written for a specific client, the people who’ve kept this business moving since I started it in middle school. Packing them into a cooler with an ice pack for the drive was its own small project since chocolate melts fast in a truck in summer, but it was worth getting right.
If you’ve hired PPS before
Don’t be surprised if one shows up on your porch. And if you haven’t worked with me yet, this is the kind of thing you can expect once you do. I treat every property like it’s my own, and I try to treat every client like they matter beyond the invoice.
